Taras Kuzio on Ukraine: Challenges and Missed Opportunities

The lack of a well-formulated US policy toward Ukraine, a grim prognosis for a successful “reset” in US-Russia relations, escalating tensions between Kyiv and Moscow, missed opportunities by Ukrainian politicians, uncontrolled corruption, “constitutional anarchy” and a seemingly insurmountable political gridlock are among the main challenges Ukraine is facing today as it prepares for its first presidential elections after the Orange Revolution, opines Taras Kuzio, Senior Fellow in the Chair of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Toronto, adding that there were also some important opportunities missed by Ukrainian leaders since independence. He offered his views in an interview with the Voice of America Ukrainian Service. The interview was conducted by Myroslava Gongadze.
